The drive select system is not a computer but simple solenoid with separate power, know way they both fail at same time.
Even very high power surge would not change this.

Ur also a idiot for buying that piece of shit U call a car. Priuses dont have a mechanical linkage, so the comp selects neutral when selected. If the comp is out of whack then the car will not respond, ie the trans will not go n2 neutral. Another thing is that deathbox has regenerative braking which doesnt apply full brakes b/c it uses the electric motors to help stop the car. 1 thing I agree with is Prius owners r stupid, including yourself, because u talk shit and dont know shit about cars.
LMAO, first off, I agree with the commentor below, dont buy that Jap crap. Secondly,ur part of the pool of idiots who bought that piece of shit you call a car. Thirdly, there is no mechanical connection between the trans and your lever, so if the computer is acting up, it will not process what you want it 2 do. ie, if ur traveling 90 mph and you try and shift in neutral, the computer might think its a mistake. 4th thing is the Prius has regenerative braking which is something else completely.
