Bottom line is: Auto workers and their union have had it pretty gravy for a long time and their product is of poor quality compared to the foreign competitors. I worked in an auto plant recently and you wouldn’t believe the stories I could tell about poor mgmt and lazy drug addicted employees. No bail out. Let the market place deal with ineffective and uncompetitive companies.
Reps Blocking the bailout breaks the UAW a nail in the coffin of unions a main force of their opposition. Ship jobs overseas, Tobacco industry left the US & now lung cancer has replaced heart disease as the #1 killer in third world nations. Control of resource and labor keeps it at the lowest price to maintain the maximum profit with the least responsibility to health and welfare of the system while masquerading behind a false brand of family value, freedom & morality toward the greater good.
Hey you have a point
I agree with much of what you say, Baby.
But I do think we should take $15 Billion from the $750 Billion + going to financial instutions (who’re not helping out homeowners as they promised) & give the auto makers one more shot.
I’m not nearly as upset, Baby, with the $15 Billion as I am the $750 Billion +.
