When Germans acknowledged their involvement in the atrocious acts against Jews –as exemplified by VW’s decision to compensate Nazi-forced laborers– Japanese automakers simply put a blind eye to the victims of the epic carnages, such as Rape of Nanking. Absolutely!
These companies were initially set up to build war machines. Their engineering process was geared towards producing highly efficient/effective machines. Like building war machines, they allowed some degree of attrition of drivers in their cars as long as the money didn’t stop flowing in. When the money did seem to stop coming in, they sent their Toyoda the Puppet, so he could be grilled by the US Congress.

It’s not surpsing for Japanese companies to not have regard for lives of innocent civilians given that most if not all major Japanese automakers are founded on crimes against humanity during the world wars, Toyota, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Mazda, you name it.
