What is the difference between modified and custom classes for a car show?

I have a 79 Trans Am that has a custom paint job and motor modifications. All the lettering and birds (including the hood bird) are done in custom paint. There are NO stickers on the car anywhere. The motor is a 350 SBC with a Weind intake, an edlebrock 600, and the rims are older centerlines. My dilema is, what class should I enter it in? Modified or Custom? I have been told that it could go in either class. You can see pics of it at http://www.myspace.com/trans_ams4ever
Thank you for putting my mind at ease. Now I won’t be so confused when I’m registering.

I would go with custom….since you have more custom work and paint, than just modified parts.

Custom is more modified than modified. If you have custom paint, then it’s always going to be custom.

I would go Custom too. I think Modified is more for major modifications like a narrowed rear end and a chopped top.
You could enter either one though i’m sure.
