What motivates people to take their classic car to a car show?

I imagine you have to pay to display it, so I would imagine that unless you get something out of it (monetary or an award or something), most people would not be willing to display their car if they are just spending money to show it, unless it is just pride alone.

it is pride alone, think of all the time, determination and money the person put in the car to have it perfect down the the last bolt. what it sounds like is, your saying somebody took and old car say a 69 charger, fully re-done motor, all new paint, perfect interior, underbody, EVERYthing, doing all that then leaving it in the garage and drive it maybe once every couple weekends. If people take the time to do a vehicle project, you have to want to do it and have want all the way through the project, if money becomes a problem then that will stop you. but if you want to restore a vehicle to me its well worth the time, no matter how long it takes. to me that seems better taking things slow, less mistakes. hope ive helped you out.

There are plenty of car shows around my city, and they’re all free. It’s just a group of people, you get there early, claim a spot, then you walk around talk with other people, sit by your car and show it off. It’s a fun time.

i own a shop and for most people its way to show off their old car because most people have done the restoration work them self, and its a way to get compliments, and to meet new people ,and once in a while you do win a small trophy or something, but mostly its a great place to gather and meet new people, and once you start doing it you sort of get hooked on it,and it feels good to get a good compliment on your car once in a while,if you get a chance you should check one out,you may get hooked on it also, good luck i hope this helps.

Mostly its personal pride in the work one has done on their “toy” plus the company of other like minded individuals

Most folks do it to meet people.
I go for that reason,if I win something thats a extra.
If you pay a entry fee, most of the time it goes to a good cause.
